How we review AI girlfriend apps

The pages we read for every app

For each app we read its own public pages: the homepage and feature pages, the pricing or subscription page, the help centre or FAQ, the terms and the privacy notice, plus refund, cancellation and content policies where they exist. The facts in a review come from those pages, and every review shows the date on which we read them.

We do not fill gaps with guesses. If a price, a message limit or a credit cost is not published, the review says so, and when two pages from the same company contradict each other, we point it out so you can check which version applies to you at checkout.

What we weigh

Five things shape a rating. Companionship: how she talks, flirts and holds a personality. Memory: what the app says she keeps, and what tools you get to steer it. Intimacy limits: how far chat, pictures and voice can go, and how clearly the rules say so. Price: the real monthly cost, credits for pictures, voice and video included. Policies: privacy, data retention, cancelling and refunds.

Ratings are out of 10. Most apps land between 6.0 and 8.6, and 9.0 or more is kept for a clear leader. A lower score does not make an app bad; often it means the app suits a narrower kind of relationship, which the review spells out in its good for and skip if lists.

What keeps an app off this site

Some apps are excluded whatever they offer us. An app stays off the site if its public pages show tools that strip clothes from photos of real people, face swaps or deepfakes of real people, or anything hinting that a character might be under 18. That includes characters borrowed from a show or a game in which they are not adults, however old the app now claims they are. Scenes where someone has not agreed, sex between blood relatives and material presented as secretly filmed or leaked also rule an app out.

When we exclude an app, we keep a short note of the reason, and the app stays out of every list and guide on this site unless its public pages change.

Keeping prices current

Plans, prices and credit costs in this category move, and promotional prices come and go at checkout. We recheck prices and plans on a regular schedule and update the date on the review when we do. If the checkout shows something different from our page, trust the checkout, and tell us so we can look again.

What our reviews are not

Our reviews describe what each company publishes. They do not report chats, purchases or pictures of our own, and they never present a company's claims as test results. For the same reason you will not find benchmark scores, response times or memory tests here: we would rather give you nothing than a number we cannot stand behind.

Rankings and commissions

Some apps pay this site a commission when a reader subscribes through one of its links, and that is how the site is funded. The apps in first place on our lists are there by editorial choice, and that choice can include apps that pay us. We would rather say so plainly than pretend otherwise.

What commissions do not change is the substance of a review. Prices, limits, policies and the reasons to skip an app come from the brand's own pages, and every review gives at least two honest reasons to choose something else.

If a review is out of date or wrong, write to hello@aiporngirlfriends.com with the page and what has changed. We will read the brand's pages again and correct the review if they confirm it.
